The most unhappy newlyweds saw their wedding full of disaster – including the bride who broke three ribs when she was dropped by her groom in the honeymoon suite – when they got married after 13 years together.
Amelia Desmond, 41, and Jim, 40, had to postpone their wedding three times because of Covid-19 – but that was just the beginning.
They lost their rings and the limo that was taking Jim to church didn’t show up, leaving guests to wait almost an hour.
The couple ended up in A&E after the romantic Jim tried to carry his bride to bed – only to get caught in her dress and let her fall, breaking three ribs.
They missed two flights on their Ibiza honeymoon after losing their wallets and passports and then had to call a locksmith after leaving their keys in Spain.
And as if that wasn’t enough, the duo also lost a purse, left a suitcase in the cab, and missed the bus while trying to escape on their honeymoon.

But despite the ordeal, the couple in love, who have been together for 13 years, said they have no regrets.
Catering manager Amelia, of Wallingford, Oxfordshire, said, “Everything was planned, but everything that could go wrong was done – one thing at a time.
“Friends and family have asked, ‘How did you not just give up?’ but we knew we would never do that.
“I admit there was one point where I just burst into tears – it was the last drop when we came back and found the car and house keys were nowhere to be found.
“Despite all the fighting and stress, it was definitely worth marrying my best friend and the fact that we never gave up shows how strong we are.

“We see the funny side now and we laugh about it all the time – it was still the best day of our lives.”
Amelia and Jim got engaged in 2017, share a nine-year-old daughter and have five other children from previous relationships.
They only ordered their £ 900 rings from an online seller, but the delivery was signed by an unknown neighbor at their home.
Since they could not track them down, they had to order more from Amazon on the DAY before their wedding, which luckily arrived on time, for delivery the next day.
But on the big day, it was the couple who didn’t show up for his ceremony.
A limo was ordered to take council worker Jim and his eight groomsmen to church, but it was not shown that she had to leave them to order a taxi convoy.

Fortunately, Amelia was told to wait at home and the ceremony finally started 50 minutes late.
She said, “I remember looking through the window and seeing all the guests I knew had been waiting for ages – and my legs turned to jelly.”
After the hotel reception with 130 guests, the bride and groom checked into the honeymoon suite.
Jim took Amelia romantically in his arms to let her fall onto the bed, but his feet caught on her long dress and he let her fall onto the solid oak bed frame.

He said, “I decided I was the muscle man she always wanted and I ripped her off my feet.
“As the steps continued towards the bed, I begged the bed to meet me in the middle.
“My walk turned into a sprint as I lost my footing quickly, then the unimaginable happened – my wife’s dress got caught under my feet.
“I dropped her pretty quickly.”
She thought she had just finished, but when she woke up in agony and could not move, she rushed to the hospital, where three broken ribs were diagnosed.
She said, “I literally couldn’t move – I thought I was paralyzed.”

The two ignored the advice not to fly to Ibiza on their honeymoon – but were stunned when their airport bus didn’t stop to pick them up at a prearranged location.
After watching it go by, they booked a taxi and headed to check-in – only to find that they had left their bag with their wallets in the taxi.
They booked another flight for the next morning and stayed at a nearby hotel, hoping nothing would go wrong.
But on the way to the airport for their replacement flight, there was a disaster.
Amelia said, “When we made our way to the airport after our hotel breakfast, I kept counting the bags to make sure we didn’t lose anything.
“That’s when I noticed that my handbag was missing – with our passports in it.”
It had been picked up at the hotel during breakfast by another vacationer who had missed his flight when it was dropped off and had to rebook it for the next day.
Amelia said, “I couldn’t bring myself to leave the airport that night if something went wrong.”
They enjoyed a happy couple of days, but after flying home and returning to the Park and Ride, another disaster struck.
The forgetful couple had left their house keys AND car keys in their hotel room on the Spanish island.

Amelia said, “I cried a little at this point because so many things had gone wrong – it should be relaxing!”
The angry couple paid several hundred pounds for a locksmith to have a new set of keys made while they stayed with Jim’s parents for one night before finally getting home the following afternoon.
But when they did, they did not regret how things had gone and still called it the best week of their life.
Amelia said, “Everything was planned, but everything that could possibly go wrong was done – and it was incredibly stressful at times.
“But after postponing it so many times, we were determined to enjoy it and it was a great wedding and honeymoon despite the mishaps.
“I think after the downfall and darkness of Covid-19 we were just thrilled to see our friends all together and party followed by a week of sunbathing.
“All disasters were worth it – I got to marry my soul mate and the man of my dreams!”
