PEOPLE living in a Herefordshire village have been told to participate in efforts to “stamp” unsocial parking spaces near the primary school.
Ewyas Harold parish council said West Mercia police were in the Golden Valley village to address the problem, but local residents would need to help spread the word in order to reach ignorant or ignorant drivers.
The council said everyone must “work hard to eliminate antisocial parking practices in the center of the village and encourage people to use the recreation area parking lot as a drop-off point for the school, chip shop, pub”. and other amenities.
“It was great to see the police in the village this morning (Thursday),” said a city council spokesman.
“You talked to the headmistress about parking at the school and we saw some parents being advised on better parking.
“The school will ask that herringbone parking and sidewalk parking stop.
“Hopefully the police presence will be an ongoing thing as we all need to address this situation for the good of the children and of course vital for the emergency services in case they need quick access to an emergency.”
It urged all villagers to help the local community by relaying the message to anyone who, either through ignorance or lack of awareness, might be contributing to the problem.
“Finally, it should be mentioned that all parents turn off the engine when they pick up their little ones in order to save some fuel and to minimize the production of diesel particles in the vicinity of small children,” said the spokesman.
