John Challis’ life apart from the legendary Only Fools and Horses – from Coronation Street to Benidorm

John Challis is best known for playing boycie in the popular TV series Only Fools and Horses – but what does he do now?

He is a man of many talents, Mr. Challis.

From 1981 to 2003 he played the character Herman Terrance Aubrey “Boycie” Boyce in “Only Fools and Horses” as well as in Boycies and Marlene’s own series “Green Green Grass”.

But more recently, John, 78, has been decorating our televisions in the ITV comedy Benidorm.

His character Monty Staines begins his life in the Spanish tourist paradise as a seedy holiday home cheater and eventually marries the hotel manager Joyce Temple Savage.

Monty was seen from season seven in 2015 through the final tenth series before the 2018 program was canceled.

“I had always enjoyed making funny voices and imitations. I did that as a child. So it seemed as natural as breathing, being on stage, making funny voices, making people laugh, or pretending to be different characters. “

While we’re glad he’s leading a quieter life, we hope to see him back on our screens soon!
