The original Land Rover Defender was an icon in the auto industry with its boxy design and off-road qualifications. The British automaker continues its rugged legacy with the unveiling of the Defender Works V8 Trophy. The Defender Works V8 Trophy is essentially a heavily modified special edition of the original icon and a tribute to the Camel Trophy off-road competition, which was known for taking modified classic Defenders to challenging terrain.

It comes in a mix of 90 and 110 body styles and is given a retro-looking Eastnor Yellow body tone, complemented by black accents on the wheel arches, rear door, and hood. Other notable styling elements include 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, a traditional grille and a Land Rover Trophy badge. The retro look continues inside with black leather upholstery in contrasting yellow stitching, Recaro sports seats and the Land Rover Classic infotainment system with integrated navigation and smartphone connectivity.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine with 405 hp / 515 Nm, which is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF. The chassis, steering and braking are improved. Off-road capability has also been enhanced with a front winch, multi-point expedition cage, roof rack, underbody protection, A-bar, raised air intake, LED spotlights and mud tires.

This edition will be highly exclusive to the ’90s body style with just 25 production units starting at £ 195,000 (rupees 1.96 billion). In addition, customers get a first taste of these special edition Defenders on an exclusive three-day off-road adventure at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire.
