Sir, it is disappointing that your editorial (Office Politics, Aug 4th) is going against the tide of new ways of working as many people have independently discovered more productive and life-enhancing work patterns in the past 17 months. Fortunately, 17 months is not long enough to get carried away with craving for cramped, uncomfortable commuter journeys that unnecessarily emit tons of CO2 into the environment, and there is the more serious problem of those who need to shield themselves for health reasons.
