Herefordshire football star and Gateman dies aged 76

A STALWART of Herefordshire Football has died at the age of 76.

Popular soccer player Gordon Hotchkiss manned Westfields’ gate for over 25 years.

Gordon lived in Fayre Oakes Hereford and spent most of his working life with Denco on Holmer Road, Hereford.

He will be best remembered for his involvement in local football and serving the Herefordshire FA as councilor and referee.

He was a goalkeeper at Westfields FC for over 25 years, both on the old Rotherwas site and on Allpay.park.

Gordon also performed janitorial duties for the HFA County Cup finals and representative county games.

Andy Morris, Westfields CEO, said: “Gordon was completely honest, reliable and a great guy who knew everyone in the local football family.”

Gordon leaves behind his wife Grace and sons Derren and Neal.
