Mobile Post Office to visit three more Herefordshire villages

Mobile post offices are being introduced in three Herefordshire villages where their branches have closed.

Woolhope, Mordiford and Much Marcle will work with Yazor Road to introduce time service while the Post Office looks for a permanent fix.

The Bromyard Post Office postmaster already has a mobile service in the area and has now added the additional stops.

Katimay John, Head of Postal Services, said, “We are excited to restore temporary mobile mail services to Woolhope, Mordiford, Yazor Road and Much as we continue to seek a permanent solution.

“We thank the postmaster for Bromyard for providing these services.”

  • The Yazor Road replacement service is The Monument Pub car park, Whitecross Road, Hereford, HR4 0LT on a Monday from 9.15am to 10.15am.
  • The Mordiford stop is on a Tuesday from 11.45 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Moon Inn pub in Mordiford, HR1 4LW.
  • Then it’s on to Woolhope, stopping at Layby Lane, Martins Close, Woolhope, HR1 4QS on a Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm.
  • The Much Marcle bus stop is in the Much Marcle Memorial Hall parking lot, Much Marcle, HR8 2LY from 3pm to 4pm on a Wednesday.

To accommodate these additional stops, Swiss Post has made changes to the current opening times of the mobile postal services in Credenhill, Upper Sapey and Lea.

These changes took effect last week.

There is a new location for the service for Lea. It now stops in front of the Crown Inn pub parking lot, Ross Road, Lea, HR9 7JZ.
