NEWS | Classic steam train that will be traveling through Herefordshire en route to Cardiff next month

A classic steam train will be traveling through the Herefordshire countryside en route to Cardiff next month.

The Welsh Marches Express will pass Herefordshire on Monday 14th February.

The Welsh Marches Express crosses the Cheshire Plain before traveling through historic Shrewsbury to join the Welsh Marches Line. The Marches Express then passes the magnificent Stokesay Castle and the historic towns of Ludlow and Hereford. As you step into South Wales and the county of Monmouthshire, you have great views of the Brecon Beacons as the Black Mountains tower over the train. At Newport, the train will cross the Usk River before embarking on the Great Western Main Line to Cardiff for an afternoon break.

Can’t you see it that day Don’t worry, the Welsh Marches Express will be visiting Hereford again on Saturday 5th March.

This time the train stops in Hereford so that passengers on board can tour the city.
