We’re starting a new brand in Herefordshire and we’re looking for a brilliant reporter to lead our coverage there.
You will work with our fantastic GloucestershireLive team but will be embedded in Herefordshire to help us run the news agenda and tell the stories that matter to the communities that live there. We want as many people as possible to find, discover, and respond to our work so that we can have a positive impact on the local communities we serve.
We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people with diverse backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories from our many communities that you think are important.
This position will be at home, however, due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate will need to live in this area in order to be able to share local stories and problems.
What will the role include?
- Find and tell stories about local communities that will appeal to as many readers as possible, or stories of interest to local communities
- Build communities online and in real life to share stories with once published stories and connect with readers about those stories
- Tell stories in many different ways including (but not limited to) real-time live blogs, article format, video, audio, and images
- Make sure that any content is thoroughly researched and balanced before posting
Who are we looking for?
- You are creative and passionate and have an awareness of high quality digital storytelling
- Ideally, you will have an NCTJ accredited journalism qualification and use that to create content that will appeal to the local audience and meet the standards set by Reach
- We want you to tell us the stories from our many different communities that you think are important as we try to attract new audiences
- A driver’s license is desirable for this role
